Data & account deletion

This page explains what personal information Nomo stores, how you can delete specific data or your entire account directly from the app, and how long anything is kept afterwards. It applies to the Nomo mobile application and is provided in line with Google Play’s data deletion requirements and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. What you can delete

You are in control of your data. From within the app you can delete any of the following — either one item at a time, a whole category at once, or everything by closing your account:

• Trip history — logged work trips, routes, distances and the dates and times Nomo recorded them.
• Receipts and expenses — receipt photos, scanned receipts and the expense entries linked to them.
• Uploaded documents — any files you have attached, such as logbooks, invoices or other supporting records.
• Working-from-home records — the hours and WFH sessions Nomo has tracked or you have entered.
• Profile information — your name, email address, and your account and subscription details.

2. How to delete specific data in the app

To remove individual items without closing your account:

• Open the item you want to remove (a trip, receipt, expense, document or WFH session).
• Then tap Delete.
• Confirm when prompted — the item is removed from your account straight away.

3. How to delete your account

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and all of the data associated with it — trips, receipts, expenses, uploaded documents and WFH records.

• Open the app and go to Settings → Account.
• Tap Delete account.

Your account is deactivated immediately and your data is scheduled for permanent deletion (see retention below). If you have a paid subscription, please cancel it separately through the App Store or Google Play — deleting your Nomo account does not automatically cancel billing that is managed by the app store.

Can’t access the app? Email hello@heynomo.com.au from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We’ll verify it’s you and complete the deletion within 30 days.

4. What is kept, and for how long

When you delete data or your account, it is removed from the live app immediately and is no longer visible or usable by you.

A limited copy may be retained for up to 30 days before it is permanently erased. This short retention window exists only to:

• meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations under Australian law;
• protect against fraud, abuse and security incidents; and
• allow recovery from routine, encrypted backups.

After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted from our active systems and backups and cannot be recovered. We may keep de-identified, aggregated information that can no longer be linked to you, along with any records we are legally required to retain for longer (for example, transaction records needed for tax or accounting compliance) — and only for as long as the law requires.
