How are repayments calculated?

Repayments are based on your loan amount, interest rate and term using the standard amortisation formula, so each repayment covers the interest for the period plus a portion of the principal.

What does principal and interest mean?

Principal is the amount you borrowed and interest is the cost of borrowing it. A principal-and-interest loan pays down both over the term, so the balance reaches zero by the end.

Does this include fees or insurance?

No. The estimate covers loan repayments only. It excludes establishment fees, ongoing fees, lenders mortgage insurance, council rates and building insurance.
